A Concert of Light and Shadow

This project was produced by Teatro del Lago in Frutillar, Chile in collaboration with the Little Orchestra Society of New York. Conceived as an educational program which pushed the concert form, the orchestra was made up of young professionals gathered from around South America and the world to perform in this great acoustic hall in Southern Chile. Together with Music Director Mischa Santora and TdL Artistic Director Uli Bader, we chose a program that explored each of the ancient four elements: Earth, Air, Water and Fire through the combination of Light and Music. For Fire, we chose Stravinsky's "Firebird" which had been staged in New York in 2014 by Mr. Christopher Green for the Little Orchestra Society. This capped the evening with a strong performative element. The complete work was revived later in Santiago de Chile at CorpArtes Theater.
